Blairgowrie

It’s always a pleasure to design a landscape that complements and enhances a beautiful architectural build. Even more so when we have plenty of open space to work with! At Blairgowrie, we were tasked with designing both the front and back landscapes in a way that created a seamless flow from indoors to out. The Smart Landscapes team worked alongside Coolabah Turf, Codbuild and Merrylees Architecture to bring this project to life.

The juxtaposition between the natural and built environment makes this garden quite unique and softens the architectural lines in a very harmonious way. In the front feature garden, the Indigenous planting palette is the hero, with inconspicuous steppers hinting at the side gate entry.

At the rear, the decked area was incorporated around the pool that included space for outdoor dining and a feature garden bed. The expansive Sir Walter Buffalo lawn slopes gracefully down across 3 levels alongside the pool area. We enjoyed the challenge of getting the heights right across this sloping block and positioning the retaining walls in a way that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing.

The Smart Landscapes Maintenance team keep this landscape thriving from season to season, ensuring that lawn and plant health is maintained year-round through our tailored schedule of mowing, edging, fertilising, pruning, pest control, and mulching.
